AWS Compute Optimizer

This tool analyzes historical AWS EC2 usage and applies rightsizing logic to identify opportunities to reduce waste and improve efficiency. It accepts a current instance type, region, utilization, and monthly cost as mandatory inputs, with optional workload and savings targets to tailor recommendations. Conceptually, the tool models size bands and evaluates the balance between vCPU and memory for the workload class, then selects a candidate instance that preserves performance within tolerances. It also considers potential Savings Plans or Reserved Instances to provide a more accurate cost projection. The output includes a recommended instance type, a projected monthly cost, and an estimated savings percentage, along with a rationale for the choice and risk considerations.
