About This Tool

The tool analyzes a user supplied text to produce objective editing metrics that support writing quality and readability planning. It targets content teams, educators, researchers, and marketers seeking reproducible numeric measures. It computes core counts and derived scores that feed reporting and workflow automation.
Conceptually, the process tokenizes input into words and sentences, counts characters, and aggregates results to produce a concise metric set. Optional enhancements include top keyword frequency extraction and adjustable reading speed for tailored readability benchmarks. Real-time or batch usage yields deterministic outputs for the same input, enabling consistent tracking over time.
Key differentiators include a transparent calculation approach, language aware defaults, and outputs formatted for programmatic use. Typical use cases include editorial review, readability audits, academic reporting, and content optimization planning.

How to Use

  1. Provide inputs: paste or input text into the text_input field.
  2. Choose language and optional top_n_keywords.
  3. Run analysis to compute metrics.
  4. Retrieve outputs: word_count, char_count, sentence_count, reading_time_seconds, avg_word_length, flesch_reading_ease, and top_keywords if requested.
  5. Interpret results for editing, planning, or research.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find Quick Answers

What metrics are produced?
The tool reports word_count, char_count, sentence_count, reading_time_seconds, avg_word_length, and flesch_reading_ease. If enabled, top_n_keywords is also provided to show the most frequent terms in the text.
How is reading time calculated?
Reading time uses a default reading speed of 200 words per minute. The formula is time_seconds = (word_count / 200) * 60. It can be approximated for other languages with minor adjustments.
Can keywords be extracted?
Yes. If top_n_keywords is configured, the tool returns the most frequent non-stopword terms up to the specified limit, aiding quick content profiling.
How does it handle empty input?
If text_input is empty or whitespace, all counts return zero and keyword results are empty. The tool remains deterministic and ready for new input without errors.
