PFA Calculator

The PFA Calculator is a specialized online tool designed for textile industry professionals to assess fabric fastness based on perception test scores. Users input individual ratings for various fastness parameters, such as color change, staining, or shrinkage, each scored typically from 1 to 5. The calculator then performs an average computation to generate the Perceived Fastness Average (PFA) score, providing an objective measure of fabric performance. This process helps quality control teams quickly identify fabrics that meet or fall below industry standards, enabling faster decision-making. The tool requires users to enter multiple numerical ratings, validates the input values, and provides instant calculation results displayed in a clean, responsive interface. It supports batch processing for multiple fabrics, allows exporting reports in PDF or Excel formats, and offers helpful tooltips for each input. The UI is minimalistic, with user-friendly forms, prominent calculate button, and results displayed in a clear panel with possible pass/fail notes based on threshold levels. Handling errors includes prompts for missing or invalid inputs, and future API integrations can include fabric sample images or test records. Optional enhancements include dark mode toggle, history of previous results, multi-language support, and help documentation. Designed primarily for textile labs, quality inspectors, and fabric manufacturers, this tool simplifies the traditional manual calculation process, thereby increasing efficiency and accuracy in fabric fastness evaluations.
