About This Tool
Core Logic & Features: Users upload a MIDI file and optionally adjust encoding settings. Required features: MIDI file upload; MP3 output generation. Optional/advanced: bitrate (32–320 kbps), sample rate (22.05, 44.1, 48 kHz), and mono/stereo; default normalization. The tool renders MIDI with a default soft-synth and encodes to MP3, returning a downloadable file.
Inputs & Outputs: Inputs: file (MIDI, required); bitrate (kbps, optional); sample_rate (Hz, optional); channels (mono/stereo, optional); output_name (optional). Outputs: MP3 file (format MP3, bitrate as selected); metadata including duration and estimated size; download link.
Algorithms & Calculations: MIDI parsing + synthesis + PCM rendering + MP3 encoding. Output size approx duration_seconds * bitrate_kbps / 8 bytes. Duration equals MIDI playback length. If multiple tracks, channel mixdown to mono or stereo as requested. Default encoder uses standard presets with dithering; quality scales with bitrate.
Error & Edge Cases: Invalid or missing MIDI file; unsupported MIDI events; corrupted files; extremely large files; encoding failures; user-selected settings out of range. Returns clear failure codes in API for retry.
Industry/Region & Localization: Units in kbps and Hz; Common sample rates: 22.05 kHz, 44.1 kHz, 48 kHz. No region-specific formats; data handling follows standard privacy expectations for transient uploads.
Assumptions & Exclusions: Assumes standard MIDI data with on-screen mapping to generic instruments. No raw audio extraction from embedded audio; no WAV export. Not responsible for third-party font or instrument libraries; results vary by synth and encoder; not a streaming service.
How to Use
- Upload a MIDI file in MIDI format ( .mid or .midi ).
- Optional: set bitrate (e.g., 128, 192, 320 kbps), select sample rate (e.g., 44100 Hz), and choose mono or stereo.
- Start the conversion and wait for processing.
- Listen to a preview if available, then download the MP
- Use the MP3 in your project or share directly.
