If DPI is supplied, pixel dimensions are computed as inches × DPI; if the target unit is pixels, the result directly reflects pixel counts. An aspect ratio lock preserves the original width-to-height ratio when one dimension is adjusted. The tool is useful for preparing assets for a 4x6 inch print at 300 DPI, creating thumbnail previews at a fixed pixel width, or verifying that a 1920×1080 image scales correctly to a print size at a particular DPI.
